Trip Cross Country - Day six

MOOSE!!in the truck in the rainharper with an elephant hat on
Day six-

We got up in Jackson and took the dog for a walk around the neighborhood. We climbed a small hill and sat up there briefly. We drank some hot chocolate and bummed around the house. Then we threw the Frisbee and drove Harper crazy outside. Around 10am we headed to Bubba's or breakfast.

We checked out Orvis while we waited for our names to be called. Eventually we sat and ate some wonderful breakfast. I tried to order the grits but the waiter said, "they are instant," which made me think I should change my order back to hash browns.

After breakfast we picked up Emily's car and headed back to the house. We packed the car and threw the dog in and headed up to where we had heard we'd see buffalo and moose. We saw some herds of buffalo - one was not far from the car! Then we drove to where we should see the moose, but it was not there. We gave up on our moose and started driving back. There were cars pulled over on the road, and there was a moose! Check that off our wildlife checklist.

We dropped Emily off at home and took off for Ketchum around 1:30pm. We drove over Teton Pass and then were pretty quickly in Idaho. We tried to listen to "Idaho" by Yonder Mountain String Band, but it was not working on Tom's ipod.

We stopped for gas outside Idaho Falls and switched drivers.

We saw lots of farms and some weird lava flow things. We didn't have to do any more climbing of mountains, so we just coasted right into Ketchum.

We arrived, unpacked let the doggies run around like crazy and then we headed to Naomi and Brad's friend Laura's house for a bbq. We sat in the back of the pick up truck while Brad drove. That was a fun experience. We ate delicious food and hung out with super fun people. We even roasted marshmallows over the grill.

On our way to sleep Tom ingeniously pushed the couch up to the bed. Instead of lying on top of us, Harper slept on the couch next to the bed. We might now have a bed/couch in our future. Our first sleep in a BED in a while. It was great.
