Sunday-
Our last official day.
We woke up somewhat late and then we biked north to Maya Beach Hotel. It was about 1 mile on a paved road, and then about 2-3 miles on a dirt road. Not too hard, but very hot out.
We ate a delicious breakfast (Tom claims it was the best hollandaise he has ever had), and then we suntanned (or sunburned depending on how you look at it) at the pool. We hung out there for a while and then headed back to our hotel.
At the hotel we realized that we were both sunburned (oops). Then we fished off of our dock. We caught a hole bunch of fish...however they were all pretty teeny and we had to throw them all back in. It was fun though!
Then we took a taxi into town and ate at French Connection one last time. This time we had a snapper and lobster risotto and the duck breast over potatoes. It was delicious again and the company was well worth it.
From there we headed home and started to pack a little bit. Boo hoo time to leave!

Fourth Belize Day
Friday-
We awoke, and Tom quickly pointed out that the right side of my lip was quite a bit larger than the left side. I then realized that I had sunburned my lip quite a bit. I also realized that my neck hurt something terrible and itched and burned.
We ate a big breakfast and sunned and swam at the pool. We were both hiding from the sun a little bit after all the sun of the day before.
We took an afternoon taxi into Placencia and walked around a bit. This was probably the hottest day of our week so far. We walked down to the Placencia Point and swam in the water right where the lagoon and ocean meet. The water was calm and warm.
To add to our day of relaxation we got massages from Siripohn - a Thai woman who does massages out of a cute little house in Placencia. They felt fantastic! We didn't go for the Thai massage (I think we were both wary of all of the stretching involved). An hour later we left feeling very calm.
We got a taxi out of town to the car rental place. It was amazing timing because the place was supposed to be closed, and we got there JUST in time. We rented a white Jeep Liberty for tomorrow's driving adventure. We drove ourselves back into town and then treated ourselves to an amazing dinner at French Connection. But before dinner we ran into a local guy selling coconuts out of his cooler. He cut a small hole in the top with his machete and then had us take a few sips of the juice. Then we dumped a hole bunch of rum into the coconut. Normally I am not a big fan of rum drinks, but this was amazing!
French Connection is a restaurant owned by a husband and wife. The husband - Marcus is the chef and is from London. The wife Anna tends the bar and waitresses. She is from Sweden. They are hilarious and very much fun to hang out with. We had a delicious salad to start (along with some drinks), and then we split the snapper over mashed potatoes with a beurre blanc sauce. It was scrumptious. We ended the meal with a blue cheese plate which put us almost over the edge of fullness.
It was a fantastic Friday.
